Called and said they were from an Air Duct cleaning services company. I get way too many calls from so called "Air Duct cleaning" companies and over 80% of the callers have heavy accents. The actually company name, if there is one, is generally said too slurred to understand. Several months ago, an expose on CBC"s Marketplace revealed that these "Air Duct" calls are actually coming from Karachi, Pakistan, even though they do have a Toronto area code and phone number. They ignore the Do Not Call List and just keep calling no matter how many times you ask them not to. They"re not in North America and don"t respect our laws -- who could enforce them? Additionally, Marketplace revealed that even after someone actually hires their services, NOBODY shows! When the number is reverse dialed, an automated message with the familiar "Bell" voice says "We"re sorry, the number you have reached is not in Service. Please check the number or try your call again" I"ve gotten so many of these calls that I"m debating whether to say "hello" using a loud whistle or blow horn ...

The FCC has temporarily halted 7 minor unprofitable boiler rooms who will receive a slap on the wrist and be back at it within a few days. In the meantime the calls will continue since they are making money with what is called a CNAM revenue-sharing program through companies like http://www.telephonemanagement.net and http://www.CallerID4U.com

Our CNAM revenue-sharing program helps you make money every time a Caller ID request is made by a phone carrier.
