Social-engineering to get the CVV-code from the back of my credit-card, along with the expiry-date & card-number.

Fortunately, the battery inside my cordless telephone is quite weak. So, after keeping him talking for 5 minutes, my phone beeped ("charge battery") and dropped the call.

Got this call today from 604-298-3708...automatic reply about a "final notice to lower your interest rate on your credit card...". I waited a few seconds then this other guy with a solid pakistani or hindi tone was very polite and told me the same b***s*** about my credit card. Then I ask him which card he was referring to, he then mentions the Mastercard and then I ask him what is the number...He gives me some random numbers where he asked if it is the right number. I answer back it might be...then he becomes a little confused and he asked if I have the card with me, I decline...hung up as quick as if he saw me coming with my own line of questions. Be aware people. We hear/read about this type of scamming everyday. NEVER GIVE OUT YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER TO SOMEONE YOU DON"T KNOW OR WHO DOESN"T HAVE ANYTHING ABOUT YOU. Such as your name, address, spouse name, mothers" maiden name etc. etc...

Second call TODAY form card holder services. Same recorded message for a few years, even though I have never carried a debt balance on my credit card. Scammer and harassing. I report all of these to Canada"s CRTC / DNCL, though nobody there is doing anything, other than collect their pay check.
