Has called me several times, each time promising a "free" Bahamas cruise (gratuties extra) after I answer some political questions.
I pressed "1", and then listened to the first question, but did not use my keypad to give an answer. After about 2 seconds, the automated caller repeated the whole question. After another non-response from me, another repeat of the whole question. After 3 or 4 attempts (totalling just over 4 minutes of their time), they hung up.
At least I prevented their auto-dialer from "moving-on" to another victim for 4 minutes.

This afternoon my wife received a phone call from her grandson. She commented that his voice sounded strange and he explained he had just been in a traffic accident and broke his nose which was why he was so hard to understand, but otherwise was o.k. He explained that he was driving and in changing lanes he hit a car that was in his blind spot and was now being held by authorities. He said he had an attorney that he knew and he had contacted who was helping him and gave me the number of the attorney who he said would explain what I could do to help him and get him let go free of charges. The attorney explained that the person in the car her grandson had hit was somehow pressing charges which forced the authorities to hold her grandson in a "holding cell". The woman, a visitor from the Dominican Republic who he hit, would drop the charges allowing our grandson"s release if my wife wired 00 immediately to her address in the Dominican Republic. The car the woman drove was from a rental company who was keeping her from flying home early the next day with a ticket that was hard to get. The rental company needed 00 that would pay for the damages. I was assured that I would be reimbursed by the insurance company in 3 business days. A delivery confirmation number for the money transfer was needed and then my grandson would be released immediately. My wife was quite upset about the whole affair and feared that her grandson might actually be in serious trouble and needed her help immediately. I was able to calm her and think it through with her so she could see clearly that it must be a scam but was still shaken until we were able to ascertain that her grandson was o.k.

The name of the Columbian woman/ auto accident victim was: Elsa Munoz. Her address in the D.R was 55 Montero Avenue, Santiago, D.R. The Money -gram should be made out to her since she had no address in this country.
The name of the "judge" on whose decision our grandson was supposedly held in custody at the court house was Steven Canny.

I received a call from this number. It was an electronic voice threatening me with a "legal lawsuit." It said an arrest warrant would be filed against me unless I called them back. I was confused and concerned, so naturally I called the number to figure out what kind of trouble I was in. The man who answered identified himself as "officer Jeff," but he spoke with a strange foreign accent, which did not sound like it belonged to anyone named "Jeff." He told me I owed 100k to the CRA, which surprised me. I asked why I owed so much, but Jeff could not explain. I asked him where he had gotten that number, and how the CRA had calculated it, but he had no explanation at all. I asked to be transferred to someone with more information, or, failing that, to speak to his supervisor. He told me that he had no supervisor, and that no one else at the CRA could provide more information. At this point I became slightly suspicious. I told Jeff that I was busy, and requested that he call me back in two weeks to resume our conversation. He agreed to, but he did not call me back.
Nine months later I received another call from this number. This time I did not pick up.
