Message said fraudulent activity on my SIN and bank accounts. Needed to call them to complete official reports for CRA and RCMP. Weird thing was, I just fell for a very sophisticated scam last Friday that took over 5 hours to complete. They gave me small amounts of information, told me to wait while they made phone calls on my behalf, and then called me back after making my wait long enough to get more frightened. Didn"t realize I"d been scammed until much later that day. Had to change all banking info, call Equifax, and CDN Anti Fraud centre. For a moment, I thought this was a follow-up call. So glad I googled the telephone number first. If you get a call like this, please call the CDN Anti Fraud Centre at the above number to report it.

l just received a call @ home from this number. Guy said his name was Phan?? Asked where he was calling from and he says Air Duct Cleaning Company. I asked him where he was physically calling from and he said Whitby. I then asked him if he was aware of the Do Not Call List and he replied Fxcx you people and the do not call list and hung up on me. I have filed a complaint with the CRTC do not call list . We have been on the DNC list since the beginning and yet still we frequently get calls from Air Duct Cleaning Companies and Door and Window replacement companies.

Most People don"t realize their rights under federal law. It is possible to stop debt collectors. The FDCPA says that if you tells bill collectors to cease phoning, they must cease. A consumer can write or tell them over the phone to stop calling. If the debt collector calls again, you can hire a lawyer. Show them who"s boss.
