Foreign accents, very difficult to understand. Wants to sell doors, or windows, or food and wants to setup an account. If you review the number later on your phone, you will see that there are several more alphanumeric numbers that follow the first 10 numbers that you see on your phone. So, you think that it is a local number, you answer and its someone trolling for your account information. Even though they claim to be a canadian business, they still call 4 or 5 times per week, since the springtime, despite several requests to stop calling. Now, I just use my call blocker to stop them - they get 1 ring, then blessed silence.

A few minutes ago, this (spoofed Caller-ID ??) number called my do-not-call-in-Canada land-line.
I picked-up, but said nothing. After 18 seconds of silence from their end, it/they hung up.
Probably a "lower-your-interest-rate" scammer.
Such callers first ask for the code on the back of the credit-card.
Then, they ask "which bank", which gives them the first 7 or 8 numbers of the credit-card.
Then, they "confirm" the name on the credit-card.
Then, they ask for "only the last 8 numbers" on the credit-card -- "not all 16 digits".
So, now they have enough information to hijack the credit-card.
