Tried to buy tools from me on Kijiji saying that he lived in New York, and would pay ahead of time and handle all the shipping. Funny though apparently he can"t do e-transfers only PayPal transactions, that requires me to pay for shipping costs of 0 up front till I get refunded once the parcel arrived..... ID"s as Sprint Canada on my land line, I finally answered after seeing it call multiple times daily for a month. They had a heavy accent and began talking about my computer and Windows-the old scam where they try to get info to hack your computer. Automated message claims that they, the CRA have opened a criminal investigation on me. They do not have a case number, they do not provide me with any identification of who the case is against, just "against you". They are not following on the tail of any official mail from the CRA. Called me 4 times over the past week - first a Winnipeg number, then Ottawa, and Toronto twice. I blocked the first 3 numbers but then they just call from another. Always a recorded message, like other people said: allegedly CRA, final notice, legal action, blah blah. This morning they called at 6:30am, I was sleeping! I was so mad that I called back, a person with thick accent (Indian I think) answered and introduced himself as "officer [something, forgot the name]" but I didn"t let him speak, just told him I"d had enough, take me off their list, stop calling me. Then he asked if I was [my first name] to which I told him it"s none of his business and hung up. My question is, how did these people get my number in the first place? And also, what is the purpose of this? Surely no one would believe this is a legitimate CRA call?
