I just got a call from some 780 number threatening to process some arrest warrant. I knew there was more wrong with them than with me...No bright company will leave such a message. If you want someone arrested you would talk to the police already.

Just received this recorded message at my place of employment which happens to be a government number. Indicated that if I chose not to respond then all they could do is "wish me luck". I received a call yesterday stating I was getting arrested if I didn"t call back cause the CRA had a lawsuit against me. I called back and the guy said I had a debt of 9000 and something and that I had to go get a line of credit from my bank of 00. He called the "RCMP" and the officer asked me why he should give me one last chance and that I had 45 minutes to an hour to get this amount and that it was my last chance, the officer told me I had to pay it back at a BIT machine and that they don"t accept online banking.
I am still freaking out about this as I have a child and do not remember having to pay the CRA as I just got a gst check in the mail last week. My only income is Social Assistance.
The guy said I could go to jail for 5 years !
Is this a scam ?
