OH YEAH, definitely a scam! Funny thing, I"m selling one of my homes and about 3 months ago I changed the number on one of my "burner cell phone accounts with a well-known provider" it"s now on the For Sale sign and the ONLY reason I"m using that number. It"s essentially an unlisted account since even my provider doesn"t know the outgoing name I"m using and for the sole reason of privacy. With me so far? Hilarious in that the woman"s voice on my messaging system IS/WAS that of a person of the Indian race ie: India, Pakistani etc. This scam is currently being played out all over the world and few people fall for it, the pieces of c**p are no different than those who call you to advise that your computer is infected with a virus. My in-laws (now in their 80"s) have received such calls yet they"ve NEVER owned a computer, wouldn"t even know how to turn one on LOL. Revenue Canada nor the IRS, does NOT call up those indebted to them nor do they or would they tip their hands to a supposed person participating in criminal activities so really, the caller you or I received the laughable threat from, for some reason doesn"t understand how they operate yet we SHOULD at least give them credit for being 1-step better than those idiots who reply via email to advise that some long lost relative of yours left you 350 million bucks and you were tracked down and now you"re rich!
