I just got a call from them today. they informed me that I entered a draw sometime ago with one of my emails. Fact of the matter is, I was entering draws online with that email some time ago. The rep I spoke with was able to identify my old address, and the correct email address, as well as my cell phone number. Scammers typically don"t have that kind of connection, usually it"s a fish where they call you can pull out details from you to "confirm".
I have some sympathy for them as I used to manage my own call center, where we used an auto-dialer. The silence isn"t someone sitting there giggling, it"s the system trying to determine if you are a person or not.
With that said, the companies they"ve given do appear to be on the up and up, however, I am not convinced that they are the companies they claim they are.
They asked for my 16 digit card number, however, they didn"t want my expiry date, or my CVV (digits on the back of the card).
In all honesty, they seem on the up and up with an annoying (and poorly managed) phone system.
I used to be a private investigator, and have looked up several revue sites, and scam page sites.
Even with all of this, I am having a coworker of mine (Web Security) look them up as I don"t trust myself.
