These guys are scammers using Cdn # to seem legit. Here the whole story of what they will try to do. They play on your existing fear/issues, as they for me & had me going for a bit, but kept them on the line for about 30mins.
1st got a robo-call saying an arrest warrant is out for me due to taxes, must respond & call the # back ASAP (actually it took a several tries to get through the call, a sign something was up). Called back & they put me through a “process” in which they read “legal” speak & all kinds of threats (if pulled over by cops will be arrested, to not hang up the call, not talk to anybody else, must keep the line open & not hit mute, have to do this right this second) and that I owed 00 in taxes & legal fees, but that I could cancel the arrest warrant by providing payment to his officers. He said I had to go to an “authorized” convenience store to get some kind of certified payment. I played along (still at home), said had driven to Sobey’s, and he then tried to get me to buy “Steam or iTunes” gift cards (specifically the ones allowing +0 to be loaded onto each). I BS’d him for a while saying the max I could find there was the iTunes cards, frustrated he said to buy 10 of them (the limit), saying 0 would cover a kind of deposit to remove the warrant.
At that point I said that I was heading to the local police station to turn myself in, since there’s a warrant for my arrest after all, he cranked up the pressure tactics for a few minutes, but then he hung up while waiting for me to drive there. Lol.
These scammers did cause some stress initially, but once I searched “CRA scam” (breaking one of his “rules” looking on internet) and found that this is their new tactic, so I just strung him along after that to see where it would go. The scary part, he said I would meet his officers at my home to receive payment. Anyone who falls for this has the potential to be a victim of violent crime, should it go sideways or you refuse to hand enough $ over.
Police report has been filed against them. I encourage anyone contacted by these criminals to contact your local non-emergency line & file a report, get these scammers put in jail where they belong.

Very inline with other comments, an automated voice telling me that the call is from CRA and there is a fraud case pending against me. He wished me good luck if I choose to ignore this message and do not call back and asked me to immediately call myself or ask my lawyer to call back.. This is 2nd call I received within a month one on my business phone and another on my personal phone with similar message content while the numbers I am not sure is the same or different.

They keep calling and say they are a survey company and launch into several questions, such as "Are you the man of the house?" They say they are SPE, but I think that is a false cover. They want to know if anyone smokes, are there pets, are there any allergies. I think they are telemarketers selling air filters, but pretending to do surveys as an authorized firm. Very pushy, and demanding. Some official agency should stop them or charge them.
