This is a scam. They use different numbers from different cities / provinces. I was initially called from an Ontario number. I asked for identification and proof they are revenue Canada - they hung up. Called the police and much to my surprise was told they know about it, but there is nothing they can do, because apparently the call centres are in other countries. ALWAS ASK FOR A NUMBER TO CALL THEM BACK & ID NUMBER (all CRA agents have one).

Machine-generated male voice advising me of a lawsuit in my name, and threatening me with a warrant and arrest if I didn"t call back as soon as possible. Well - asap is NEVER in my vocabulary. A "lawsuit in my name"? Sure - when the recording doesn"t address me by name, or identify the type of lawsuit that I"m facing. Laughable, if it weren"t for the fact that some folks will feel threatened. I wish these folks would get a different type of employment.

I got the triple bingo card in the mail as well, scratched it and won. My daughter called the caller hotline and answered a few questions about our family. She thought it seemed sketchy. The young girl working the callers hotline set up a time to send over someone to our home to "match our bingo numbers" and bring over the relative prizes. They came at a time when neither my husband nor I were home(even though my daughter told her to come at a time when we would be), and my daughter never answered the door when they rang the doorbell.

Got call from 613-366-3339 - It"s an automated recorder however be aware that in order to try to legitimize their scam, a prior called number spoofing intentionally made directly and hung up same day to make the call more believable. - they used 800-267-6999 in case you get these scammers calling along with a call and hangup to spoof legit number to your phone.
