never - ever use your banking reputation, to cash checks and send surplus money to others for whoever the criminal is who sent you the counterfeit cheque. Your bank 99.9% of the time cannot know if a cheque is legit, only the actual bank it"s drawn on/payable at, often across the country can know that and usually only once they get the original. It"s only your good rep with your bank that gets the cheque cashed & when it bounces you loose. Read your banking agreements.

Today I received a similar letter. Fortunately, I don"t trust this type of thing to begin with but decided to try checking it out. On review of the letter, there are many spelling and consistency errors that a professional company would not allow. Wish I could cash their cheque and do nothing. Do take care.

I received a letter and cheque after signing up to be a mystery shopper. It looked too good to be true and only sign up for the hell of it.
The cheque, the letter all looked so real. Fortunately my family convinced me not to do it, thank God.

I didn"t get a call, but I got a letter with this number on it. The letter claims that I was chosen to be a mystery shopper and I had to call this number to activate the cheque that was enclosed with it. Then I would be expected to spend about 0 at a retail store, and wire over comments,305.00 through Western Union to someone, then evaluate the services and fax a form back to them.

This is a scam!

everything you are to WIRE of monies from the Fake Cheques..is to go to Boston ..and this person the ((Real Stanley Peterson)) is Deceased!!!!

...sadly they are using His Name for such crimes...that is how they do it...Orbituraries...and get away with it...sadly...oh those Nigerians..hopefully there are good Nigerians out there in the world..to make up for the bad ones of crime..i met many and thank goodness they are GOD FEARING PEOPLES..would never think of such a thing...Not all are the same but some are corrupt...


now to contact this persons family is another thing i have to do..to advise them what is happening..the worst thing for me to do is that..apparently he died last year by records in Boston...i am not going to know how to even approach it...but something must be done..or i won"t be able to sleep at night knowing all this...

asked to do the same thing..i found it funny when i called the number..usually a person answers by it"s company portfolio..and received no LOGO from the Company on the envelope with a cheque to do the same thing..ive been in mystery shopping and data entry and research of all types..i know how it works and if legal..then we would not be calling a Condo Complex instead..bare envelope without companies name...False Transit Id for bank..no such Transit # exists..so do not be fooled....you will be charged for fraud if you do attempt to change such an amount and do what they ask you to do..once it is Wired there is no trace and you are accountable owing thousands with your bank..then they will close your account immediatley and then phone police to charge you..not them..they are long gone..apparently after my research of all i could gather..their main place of this is in Montreal..all run by Fido and rogers prepaid phone numbers which anyone can get at anytime..no contract and they have phone forwarding..to N.S and Ontario..but the Main is Montreal..from what i found out so far..

and Linda thompson is Deceased and so is Stanley Peterson..so do your homework before you do anything at all..

i already reported this to the Internet Cyber Crime and i am keeping all documents as they will eventually need them..including the fake cheque for thousands...

these are Nigerian people behind it..using Deceased peoples names from orbituraries to scam you and your left holding the bag..more or less in alot of trouble...and i would not want that for anybody...

i used to get alot of stuf from Nigeria itself trying to scam me...once i did my homework i knew what was behind alot of it...some were even stating they were Pastors..imagine that...all kinds of ideas..and they found their way into Canada doing this right from their apartments..no such business will ever not have their Logos or not with the BBB..a legitimate business will not answer with just HELLO..

a Business will answer by their company name and linked with the BBB..before you do anything with any cheque..one should have it Investigated and Verified by their bank first..to see if it is legit...the Bank will be happy to do that for you..before you put it in your account unknowingly...and voila..your dooped...so any bank can verify it first to see if it is verifiable or not before you do anything..watch out for yourself/s

do not fall for such things..we are educated enough to know the difference...

but it is so sad that some got duped already as i heard from the research...it is unfortunate they play on the innocent...

the Number above is also a Forwarded Number they also use across..all calls are forwarded to manyareas of different cellphones...so let me call th managment of the condo and see what one can come up with after the call..i am quite sure that person will be quite surprised as i am sure he knows not about any of this going on...

and the Nova Scotia Branch on the Cheque Transit #87866...does Not Exist...and you may find different transit numbers used along with deceased names they are using..BE Careful in the Cyber World of Crime..

No call. Received a letter same as the person above with "cheque" to be activated. My pay was to be 0, spend 0 and transfer the rest to two people with addresses in the USA. Also they are using another number as well - 514-576-5987 and ask for Linda Thompson or Stanley Peterson

Then I would be expected to spend about 0 at a retail store, and wire comments,755.00 Via western union to BOB COLE location ABERDEEN NJ 07747 and comments,453.98 to DAN TEETERUSER via money gram location ABERDEEN NJ 07747 , then evaluate the services and fax a form back to them.

And 450 $ to be my weekly salary ,and 240 $ funds for service charge transaction at money gram and western union

recieved check in mail 91.17.if it is to good to be true ,it is not true .same people linda thomson ,stanley peterson. on the respond form western union is spelled wrong ,they spelled it weternunion.that the first clue ,no website,no return address,it is complete bullshit.if you do cash the check, you will be liable.do not fall for it.i will be reporting it to the RCMP .

I received a letter (with no return address on the envelope) but the letter indicates AVIS (Equal Opportunity Employer) at address 510 W Parkland Drive, Sandy UT 84070, Telephone number at the top was 1-604-440-1578 and Fax # 1-877-861-6428. My assignment coordinators were Linda Thompson or Stanley Peterson at 1-6047-440-1578 for check activation.

After reading many comments on scams I discovered that the apparent assignment coordinators Linda Thompson or Stanley Peterson are both deceased. At the bottom of the first page it indicates to receive your next assignment on time to please contact Agent Morgan Finley at 1-226-345-0121 OR Agent Tito Adams at 1-778-710-2526.

I was to be paid 0 and an additional 0 from shopping at Walmart and the Western Union or Moneygram transactions in the amount of 08.00. DO NOT CASH THE CHECK which seems to be completely valid!!!
