Some People don"t understand their rights as outlined by laws and regulations. It is possible to stop debt collection agencies. Bill collection agencies must stop calling if you inform them that they must stop. A person may write or tell them on the teoephone to stop calling. If the debt collection agency calls again, you can bring a lawsuit against them. Demonstrate to them who"s got the upper hand.

Received the same message as everyone else here. I"m an Accountant and I talk with CRA on a periodic basis and they definitely do not operate this way. If someone calls you from CRA and you feel uneasy about the situation hang up and call CRA directly at the numbers you can find on their website. I hope the authorities monitor this website since something similar was on the news today. They could do an undercover op against these people and take them down.

A recorded voice (east-indian accent) claiming to be an RCMP member on behalf of Canada Revenue Agency. Recording did not mention my name, but did state that there was a tax fraud case against my house (???) and that if I didn"t call back they would start legal proceedings. Claiming to be from RCI, Recorts International. Telling me I registered for a trip to Florida, which I did not. When asked to be taken off their calling list, the answer is that she is not calling from a list, she is calling because I registered online, which I did not.
