I received the same voice recording this morning. It was a robot announcing this is a call from the Tax dept. of Canada Revenue Agency and tha the reason behind the call if that there is a lawsuit being filed under my name and that I need to call 1-905 - 769-0687 to speak to them. Automated message claims that they, the CRA have opened a criminal investigation on me. They do not have a case number, they do not provide me with any identification of who the case is against, just "against you". They are not following on the tail of any official mail from the CRA. Received a threatening messaged from a Jonathan Knight at this number saying that he was from CRA and there was a problem with my file and that if I didn"t call back immediately he would lay federal charges against me. I didn"t give out any information as I had heard about this scam already and they had the incorrect name for my number. After I wouldn"t give out my name he hung up.
