This number calls a lot. I let it go to voice mail. Sometimes I have a recording and it says something about the IRS and suing me in a funny computer generated type voice. I finally blocked the number on my phone. I think they will just call from another number most likely because I think I"ve blocked them previously.

Scam artists, same comment as above saying that a tax collector would be paying me a visit if I did not call them back. First series of calls prior were automated with a ridiculous message saying that if I did not return the call I would face serious repercussions. This is threatening and needs to stop. Fake officers by the name of John Palmerson/John Thomas/Joseph Martin (basically any generic white sounding name) running a shakedown scam. They claim that you owe taxes to Canada Revenue Agency and to pay up or get arrested.
A simple google search of "647 800 tax scam" pulls up multiple hits of this scam.

I"ve received 2-3 of these calls from this number this week.
First of all they don"t even name you in their voicemail, I don"t name myself in my message they just say "this is a message for you" HA HA.
I call them back, he asks for my name, I say "you don"t know who I am from my phone number you called me?" I make up a fake name and give it to him to check my file., in about two seconds he says "OK I"ve got your file open, you owe a balance and have offences against the CRA". I tell him that"s not my name and I think this is fake. He just says "OK" and hangs up.
CRA wouldn"t be calling people, they"d send an official letter AND if you ever did have to call them, I"m sure they"d give you a 1-800 so you don"t have to pay to call them long distance.
