Left robotic voice saying owed money to canada revenue tax dept and there was a warrant for arrest put out. Called the number and the woman gave a badge number and the name "Susan Logan", and said we couldn"t make any calls, that the phone was tapped and that if i didnt go to the bank (even though yesterday was a bank holiday and CRA offices are closed anyway), extract 00 and put it on a prepaid debit card and transfer them money, that the name and address would be put to the police and i would be arrested. Very threatening and convincing. Realized that this is NOT common protocol for debt collection and hung up. Then they tried calling back with a number that came up on my phone as the official CRA phone number, but a friend was with me and informed that VOIP services can do this with altering caller ID"s. Be careful out there people.
