Just received this call on my cellphone. The recorded message said they were from Revenue Canada and an arrest warrant would be issued if the call was not returned. As I previously worked for CRA Investigations, I knew this was a scam so tried to call the number back to see what they had to say. My cellphone wouldn"t allow me to call back as it came from an overseas phone number, not the one on caller ID. CRA will NEVER contact you by phone, always be snail mail with a dedicated phone number, name and department. They will only call once the recipient has responded to the letter.

Received a robot call saying that Canada Revenue Agency filed a lawsuit against me and pressurise to call back ASAP. This is ordinary landline phone number and is not associated to any agency or lawfirm... actually no names pops up. I got a call from this number on my cell phone. It was blocked by hiya and when I called it back I got a nondescript answering machine message telling me to leave my contact information. No identifiers as to the company who originally called me so I"m assuming that it is some sort of spam or scam where they"re trying to get your information. I trust hiya and did not leave my information because I didn"t know who I was calling. It could be a debt collector. I"ve had a string of those calls from the 807 area code.
