Just had this number call again! Seen it on the display but never leaves a message. Checked the number and shows as a scam. Husband answered and the guy stated he was asking for donations for the CPA. Husband politely said "no" and to take us off their call list. The guy just kept talking over my husband so he hung up!
We live in Airdrie. Where is this guy getting his calling lists?

I too got a call from this number last night. Said he was calling on behalf of the Canadian Police Association and looking for money to support anti bullying programs I told him I am already involved in this field and he went right into how good that was and looking for -. I said no thank you I don"t donate over the phone and he continued to go on so I said thank you and hung up.
He was very well scripted.on what to say and very smooth. BE WARE... I would not do a donation over the phone.

Called claiming to be with the cpa asking for monetary donations ranging between 100-300$ in support of an anti-bullying campaign. I respectfully declined and he started lowering how much I would be willing to donate and would not take no for an answer. He was being quite rude so I told him to f off and hung up. It was clear at that point that he was definitely not working for the cpa. I was also suspicious since he had a grand prairie number and I"m in edmonton. When I brought that up he dismissed it.

Called my cell and without introducing started saying he is calling on behalf of XYZ (mumbled it so I did not understand) but it was about anti-bullying. Proceeded to ask if they can count on my support. I said no not financially and he proceeded to say it doesn"t matter how much I give so I said I am not able to give any money...he still wouldn"t give up.. I hate to be rude with telemarketers but ended up cutting him off mid sentence saying sorry I am really not interested have a great day goodbye all in one breath and hung up on him.

I called the Grande Prairie non emergency Police number to ask directly if this was a scam and they confirmed that this number and person are a scam, the lady said if anyone does give them money that you will be provided the Fraud number to report to. Don"t give this scammer any money if they call you, it is definitely not the Police Association behind it. The number is 780-532-1131

Just received a call from this same number. I don"t often pick up numbers I"m not familiar with, but I have family in that area code, so I thought it might be legit. Well, that was a mistake. Transparently a scammer - pushy and hostile.

He tried the same routine with me about how he wanted 0 to help fund police going in to classrooms. I"m an ex-cop myself, and am also aware of all the scams out there. When I politely asked him for more information, he balked and kept saying he"d have to send me to the "verification department", but needed to know first how much I"d be willing to give. No legitimate charity operates that way, and it confirmed my initial gut reaction.

At this point I identified myself as a retired police officer, said that under no circumstances would I donate over the phone, but that I"d be very happy to check out a website. He gave me copsforkidssafety.com - which does not appear to phone people and demand money.

If these scammers call you, tell them to go straight to hell.

This scam has called me from two different numbers including this! First time, I hung up after hearing the combination police + asking for money! no way such a thing would be valid to call people and ask for donation. I say don"t even bother responding commercial calls let alone these scam calls! I always hang up a call as soon as noticing it is not useful for me and add the number to the reject list!

Male caller representing himself as CPA Association raising money for Bullying Programs. Has an "American" accent and presents himself aggressively but won"t actually describe program when challenged. Note if using a switching system even though it shows as Grand Prairie it can be coming from anywhere in the world. Last one showed 780 area code but was from India ! ! !

i received this call - they said they were calling on behalf of the Calgary Police looking for monetary donations for their anti bullying campaign.. The gentleman (and I use that term loosely) was speaking so fast i asked him to slow down but he kept talking over me and told me to listen up. I said "You asking for money for anti bullying but you seem like a bully yourself" I don"t donate over the phone. He continued to speak over me and said he would call me back later on that evening since now wasn"t a good time for me. I told him not to call me back. He said he was going to anyway. I hung up and blocked his number.

I contacted the Calgary Police to ask them how I can tell when their fundraising attempts are legit or not as this was incredibly abrasive if it was someone from their department - they promised me that they will NEVER call you on the phone looking for money.. EVER
