Called today at noon, the number came up on my call display and i thought it was a cell phone number from someone i know. when i answered there was a delay in the person"s answering response on the other end. I am familiar with this delay as being usually from a telemarketer so as soon as I heard the male voice say hello i hung up.

I have received a call from this number for the last week and it"s not just once a day it"s multiple times a day! When the answering machine picks up they hang up?? and when you answer they hang up???

They called and asked if my parents were home claiming their from the CPA and that they had some questions to ask my parents, Im over the age of 18 and though I generally lie and say I"m not, they didn"t ask me how old I was which was odd since majority of Telemarketers have asked how old I was so that they can still sell me something or whatever. And I don"t know what the CPA is since there are several different titles that fall under such abbreviation.

I do the usual on unknown calls; answer and listen for 5 seconds. I can here what sounds like a voice or voices in distance. I say Hello and no one answers. I wait 10 secs and say hello again. I even try to sound amicable...perhaps I need to sound real happy then they will talk...who knows.
Are they waiting for a particular type of person to answer or someone who sounds younger and less wise to their scams?

An RCMP calling from Vancouver BC asking for donations for children safety and bullying. Totally screwed up with my name And he was using foul language..! swearing!!! These people call me several times a day...everyday now! I do not answer anymore, but I hate, no...I LOATHE when I get up to answer these calls, just to see the number.

Indeed, they called asking for some "Police" donation, and I was pretty sure it was not, as the English was horrible, and utterly obvious to me that this was the case.

I also asked that my number not be sent out to these agencies, and somehow...whether these guys bought a DNC list, or it got leaked, but I would be interested to see if anyone else had their number on the Do Not Call list...

This number just called me claiming to be a branch of the RCMP Bullying unit asking for donations of 0-0-0 or - to go towards programs to help against cyber bullying and bullying in schools, the voice almost sounded computer generated and reading from a script because the responses where the same with each of my answers repeating the - deal. when asked if i can drop the donation off at the local police station there was no answer.
