I got the same call a moment ago from a number in Kingston 613-777-4296.
I knew it was a scam right away. CRA does not call and threaten like that . I know because I had an actual (minor audit last year). They will call or send a proper letter usually asking for supporting documentation on something very specific you submitted on a previous return. CRA do not call and threaten and ask for personal information as a first contact.

I picked up a call from "CRA" his name was James Anderson and claimed he was a case officer, provided badge id # 972577, case file #, arrest warrant # claiming tax fraud/evasion and asked if i had a lawyer, said they tried to contact me twice with registered letter and the call was the last attempt. He claimed the RCMP would come to my house to arrest me in the next 45 mins and that my employer would be contacted and that I would receive a termination letter once they were informed and that liens would be placed on all my assets. Made statements of costs to go to court and fight the government I eventually hung up and I called my local police and they said it was a scam. This is very scary and took me a while to realize this didn"t seem right..

Just got this call. Was suspicious because it said "final attempt to reach you" and I haven"t received any letters or any other method of communication regarding CRA issues. Glad to see it"s a recognized scam, since it was a pretty scary message!
