Robo-tory

In the past 3 weeks John Tory has called me about ten times that I have been home to answer the phone and I have also had several messages left on my answering machine. I have called their office 9 times and have asked them to remove my number from their list 9 times and I continue to get calls from his office. Today I called and Michael answered the phone. I started the conversation attempting to communicate to Michael all that I have just written above but he would not allow me to finish a sentence. He kept interrupting me saying "if you want me to put you on our do not call list just give me the number then. It sounds like it is you who is harassing me". I tried to explain to Michael the frequency of which his office calls me and that I would like some assurance that I will not receive another call from their office or my intentions were to call the police. I am not sure if he was paying attention or not. He asked for my name but I did not want to give it to him because I did not want my name attached to my phone number and I told him I was not required to give it to him nor did I trust them with that information. I had explained that to their office manager "Dana" who I spoke to twice over the past few weeks also. I then asked Michael to please have Dana call me as I would like to speak to his manager due to the way he was speaking to me and at that time I had figured that if Dana could assure me that this was all some big mistake and promise me they would never call me again I would not have to get the police involved. Michael then insisted on getting my name. I explained to Michael that I was the only one who would be answering this phone and Dana already had my name as I spoke to her previously and if she didn"t I would give it to her when she called me. He said "I would like to help you sir but without a name I can"t have her call you". I attempted to explain the law to Michael again that I wasn"t required to give him my name and to please have Dana call me. He said "I would like to help you sir since you sound so angry and I would like to calm you down but I can"t do it without a name" I said "Michael I am not angry I am annoyed. That is to be expected after being harassed as often as I have been". He said something like "oooooohhhhhh well sir I wish I could do something. You sound like such a pleasant person. The world is such a beautiful place. I love it!".

I was recording the call and in an attempt to get Michael to treat me with a little more respect I told him so and also said I would play it for Dana. I also told him I was considering uploading it to YouTube. He said "go ahead I can"t wait to hear it!". I still might do so now even though I had no real intention on doing it before. I tried to make him aware that his office was harassing A LOT of people and that they should google their phone number. I said that so he would know that it was not just me and to try to let him know that this is a huge problem as his office is harassing all these people. He said "okay sir I"ll do that and I"ll also check out YouTube too. I"m sure you"ll be the only one anyway". I again asked if he would please take a message for Dana and he said all the exact same things he did earlier and hung the phone up.

I called back and he answered again. Same attitude. Almost the exact same conversation as before. He hung up again as I was asking him to have the manager call me.

I just got off the phone with the intake officer for non-emergency calls for the police (416-808-2222) who took all my information and is having someone call me back to file a report over the phone.

Called 3 times within one hour. No voicemail left. Telemarketers or robo calls, d**n it...

Harassment Directly from city hall...go figure.
