I received an email from someone claiming to be Sam Jones from Reatech Systems saying that he found my resume on Indeed (I never post my resume on indeed) and he"d like to complete a phone interview with me so I gave him my name and number. I received a call the next morning he asked me 3 interview questions and told me to check my email tomorrow without even asking whether I have any questions for him like basic interview etiquette. I received an email the next morning saying I got the job and that it pays /hr. He asked for my name, number, and mailing address. I googled the number he called me from and it turns out there"s 3 or 4 different IT companies with that contact number. When I called the number it wasn"t like your usual company mainline where you have options you just encounter an answer machine that tells you "you"ve reached the voicemail of (silence)" followed by a beep. I don"t know what"s the intent but they"ve gotta be so naive to think anybody with some common sense would think anything about this is legit.

Sam Jones called me Just like everyone else has said but I went through just to see how they do it. First I looked up the company, website was inaccurately put up. It was make shift and didn’t have everything filled out and the template was still using default words. So I knew then yes this is a scam. So I went ahead gave him my address and phone number. Received a check for 50. Took the check to my guy who’s a manager for check cashing, he says it’s a legit cashiers check but wouldn’t know until he runs it. He runs the check through his system, it then says he needs to verify funds from BBVA Compass Bank. He didn’t know I have that bank, called the check verification system and boom check not found. So I proceed to do what they call a check trace to see where the money goes. Hopefully me helping the bank and police will catch this guy!
