I received 4 separate calls in 1 day from this number. I stopped picking up the phone after the first and blocked. Basically they purport to be from the CRA and are threatening me with police action if I don’t pay what I “owe” the CRA. Could be very convincing to those not knowing the status of their taxes. When I looked up this number online it is a Provincial Superior Court of Justice phone number located at Queen St W, in Toronto, ON, so the scammers are spoofing a real superior court phone number. Here is the transcription of the voicemail from my blocked voicemail list. The first part of the pre-recorded message they play once the call is picked up is cut off:
“_⁠_⁠_⁠_ would be an intentional _ _⁠_⁠_ _⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_ to avoid initial appearance is before the magistrate judge or exempt jury for a federal criminal offense so before this matter goes to federal _⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_ for you get arrested kindly press one and speak to an officer now…”
