Indian accent. Informed me that the CRA was taking legal action due to debt that I owed. Demanded that I call the number he provided over the phone (did not note it since I was at work) and informed me that someone will be coming to my house. I hung up at that point but pretty certain it was a recording and a scam.

Sounded like a well-recorded call, didn"t introduce himself and called from Hamilton, ON. Don"t give this guy any of your info it"s a complete scam. I didn"t say a word so it very well could"ve been an actual person but if is, ask them to send you a letter and MAKE SURE it looks legit.

Caller called me at work and claimed to be from the CRA and said due my failure to pay taxes (lie), they will put a lean on my assets and bank account and I should call the number to put a stop on the legal proceedings. The person also said a tax collector would come to see me in a few days to complete the paper work. THIS IS A SCAM! Tax agencies will NEVER call you as all of the correspondence is done through paper mail primarily, particularly in such circumstances as you need a paper trail to prove a case in court. Plus, if you don"t know my name, then you have no business talking to me about my taxes with the most generic claims ever!
