They called and asked for Mrs ___ (he butchered the last name - aqnd there is no one by that name here). I asked Should I be blocking this phone number from calling me? Who are you, why are you calling? and he hung up.

I answered the call because it appeared to be from Courtenay. There was alot of loud background noise and was very hard to hear anything. The caller asked to speak to Mrs.______ . I couldn"t hear it so I asked them to repeat it. She repeated it. I asked who it was and what did they want and the caller promptly hung up. I tried phoning back but a telus message said that it was a "number not in service".

he knew my name and my street adress,he was calling to tell me of a reduced rate of interest on my visa account and he was sending me all the proper paper work in the mail.he didn"t have my p.o.box number, i questioed him about that ,he said not to worry the papers would be mailed to me , he asked me personel questios about my personal life like am i simgle or married ishould of clued in right then but didn"t he then proceeded to ratlle off a account number very close to mine then asked to verify if this was the right number ,like a fool i crrected him with the right number, there was background noise marking it very hard to hear . after thinking for a bit i finally realized that i had become a victim of credit card fraud, i instantly phoned visa to report the scam and cancel my credit card . i am a senior citizen and still believe that people are honest. to mark the scammer how low in life do you have to ,remember this what goes around comes around you will get your waterloo some will do justice on you.

I reported his number and location (Cumberland) to the RCMP antifraud section by e-mail. If you get these types of calls report them. It is the only way to protect yourself... like the person who said he knew their balance and credit limit... you want him out their with your information?

Same call consisting of pretty much everything everyone else has said. I answered he asked for a variation of my last name and I asked who it was and he just kept asking for mrs..... All I could hear was lots of background noise. When I said"are you not going to tell me who this is?" He hung up. Very strange.

Received call at 14:55. I answered but no one responded back, just heard a fair amount of background noise. Then the caller hung up. Has not called back. I was recently in the Comox Valley but did not use any credit cards or give out my phone number except to appropriate businesses.

Male asking for credit card info. When I asked who it was & why was he calling he responded *Brian* & mentioned credit card rates. Told him I did not want to receive this type of call and please remove our number from their list. He started to continue - but I disconnected the call, and immediately blocked the number.
