This really is the police calling to verify an unfinished 911 call from your phone number. They rang me at 9:50 pm. I didn"t pick-up because I never answer unidentified calls from numbers I don"t recognize. No message was left. Ten minutes later the RCMP were at my door (very nice and polite) saying they had just received an unfinished 911 call from my phone number. I asked how that could happen. I don"t have a cell phone, so no pocket-dial possibilities, And I don"t have any pre-set numbers on my landline - not even 911. He said sometimes if you hit * it will dial 911. I think I accidentally hit * when I was hanging up the phone from a previous call. This number dialed me within minutes of that. And the police officer was at my door minutes later.

Received 3 missed calls from the number. I called back, message that says - "not in service". I had not been near my phone for over 45 min., before the calls came in, as I was in a different room in a meeting. No record of any calls going out.. Strange..

They called saying that someone had called 911 from my number and asked who I was, confirmed where I lived. I checked my call log when I got off the phone and confirmed that I had not called 911. Strange?

Claimed to be RCMP returning a 911 call I knew that I didn"t call them but my infants was running around with my phone just before they called so I didn"t think much of it after asking my name and address I got off the phone and check my call history and sure enough no call was placed to 911 I find it very suspicious and since I"ve had this happen before and they called from a blocked number and they didn"t ask for my address I would think what it" has something to do with a scam or something

Call display shows call came in 8:55pm. I don"t even live in Courtney. And I checked my call history and no 911 call originated from my number. I didn"t speak to anyone because I missed the call.

Received a call on my cell from this number and the woman stated that I had phoned 9-1-1, asked if everything was alright, and knew my name - so I would think this is the emergency call centre. However, I checked my smartphone log and had not emergency dialed (but it was in my pocket).. I have a Blackberry Classic and supposedly you have to confirm emergency calls in addition to speed dialing the number when the phone is locked, but I haven"t tried it.

The woman said she was with the RCMP returning a 911 phone call. I called number back within a few minutes of them calling me and the call would not go through, recording said number was not in service. You are a coward and doing something illegal, hope WHOEVER you are you get caught!!!!

This is the real number to the rcmp. I work at a school and our alarm went off. The number called and said our local detachment was responding to an alarm call from the school.
