I got a call from an Asian/East Indian man who said I had problems with my computer. Believing this to be a scam I told him I don"t have a computer. He then asked if I had a laptop, again I said no. Frustrated, he asked me what I did have. As politely as possible (without laughing) I told him I didn"t believe it was any of his business. He hung up

Got to the phone as it went to answering machine. Waited to hear who it was but the caller never left a message. Since this is a local exchange for us, I was curious. Judging from the comments on this page, it looks as if it was most likely the same scammer. And there are some remarkably savvy people out there. Well done!!

I just got a strange call from this number. A woman with an East Indian accent said she was receiving secret error messages from my computer, of which I was unaware, so she called my mother who gave her my number... I asked who she was, was she from our ISP, and she said she was "from Windows". I said my mother has a Mac. I asked for her number so I could call back, and she gave me (303) 351-7053. She really wanted me to turn on my computer. I said forget it because it was too weird. Why would she call my 77-year old mother who owns a Mac? She eventually hung up. If I hadn"t had a house full of screaming kids at the moment, I would have loved to mess with this lady"s head.

got this scammer about a week ago using a different phone number, and hung up on him; I couldn"t believe it when he called back. Told him I had read all about it on the internet and it"s a scam, he tried to deny it, eventually shouting at me. I told him never to call again, so they are calling from this 220 number now instead !

It is a scam. Microsoft does not cold call you. The man who call had a strong East Indian accent. I do not believe they were calling from Victoria. They called about 6 months ago as well - he told me he was calling from India and wanted me to give control of my PC to him to solve the issue. I searched this incident while keeping him on line and found out it was a scam. I told him I was calling the local authorities on my cell phone and he finally hung up. Don"t give them any info

rec"d call from this number late Sunday Sep 7 (after 10 pm). Male caller said he was calling from "Windows Support" and said they had been receiving error reports from my computer for the past several weeks. He said my computer could crash at any time.
He wanted to transfer me to his supervisor who could "help" me fix my problems.
I realized it sounded pretty fishy so when he came back on this line I asked what company he was with. He replied "PC Support". I proceeded to tell him that I was not about to give him any information over the phone and was set to call him a scammer but he hung up on me.

I received several phone call these days from many numbers, all about Microsoft. I know it"s a scam. I have 2 iMac at home and no Microsoft computer at all. First one aksed for my Microsoft and I told him I don"t have any Microsoft computer and he ask me what computer I have and so on. At the end of the conversation, a bit frustrated he asked me my credit card number. Second I put him on old with No Use For A Name music from my iPod and he hung-up. The last one I tried the same but he staied online so I told him I record the conversation and I called the police. I just bord of it, they call 3 to 6 time a week from different number, Maine, Texas and BC. Pissed Off

yesterday a call came from "no name no number"....ignored it. Today got a call from this number which I now recognize like it was my mother"s. That is, I recognize it as a call coming from some criminal trying to steal from me.

I think if they don"t get through on the no name number, they switch to this or another number. They think we are all as stupid as they are.

Have received repeated calls claiming to be PC support techies and offering to solve my computer woes; the latest this morning from 250-220-1011. Whenever they call, I lead them on, claim someone is at the door, set the phone down for a few minutes, then return and ask the scammer to start over. I repeat the cycle as many times as I can. Eventually, they hang up, but it"s great fun until they do..
