His mother is French Canadian and his father is Greek. If you receive calls without any speaking (or with a false accent from India), be careful, you are his next victim. Young woman, impersonating granddaughter, called my in-laws in Ohio on their landline, acting in distress and telling a story of being out with friends, drinking, wrecking car, being in "detention." Then her "attorney," "Walter Swanson," got on the phone & said the legal problems would be solved (car repairs, alcohol charge, granddaughter"s record) if: ,500 in Giant Eagle gift cards were purchased. They were to purchase cards then call 403-689-8131 & read to Mr. Swanson the numbers on back of card. Good people at Giant Eagle knew it was a scam. They suggested in-laws call # and ask to wire $ via Western Union (they knew answer would be "no.") Scammers hung up on in-laws. Then they finally called us. Apparently this is a classic "Grandparent Scam" but the purchasing of Giant Eagle gift cards may be a newer twist.

I called back twice to this number, they claimed to be Revenue Canada, and they asked my name and post code. I asked them why they called me. If they have my number, obviously they do, before I tell they my name they must have a reason whey they called my number. I just do not tell anyone who says he represents Revenue Canada my number.
