They call my cell phone periodically. They also call the house phone number also. Both phone numbers have been on the DO NOT CALL Registry for quite a while. Well when someone answers, they just hang up, and other times, no one answers. The message used to have an option to remove your number from the list. But I still get the calls. I don"t know what phone number the call came from on other occasions.

Very poor English speaking East Indian on a very poor internet telephone line. Tried to get personal info but failed at even getting my name. Kept trying the classic question "sorry this is a bad line, can you hear me?" If you say yes, they use the recording of you saying "yes", along with personal info to open up all sorts of fraudulent accounts with financial institutions. Be careful and tell them to write to you at your registered address - CRA are good at having our addresses and are a lot more honest than these idiots!

I received a call yesterday stating I was getting arrested if I didn"t call back cause the CRA had a lawsuit against me. I called back and the guy said I had a debt of 9000 and something and that I had to go get a line of credit from my bank of 00. He called the "RCMP" and the officer asked me why he should give me one last chance and that I had 45 minutes to an hour to get this amount and that it was my last chance, the officer told me I had to pay it back at a BIT machine and that they don"t accept online banking.
I am still freaking out about this as I have a child and do not remember having to pay the CRA as I just got a gst check in the mail last week. My only income is Social Assistance.
The guy said I could go to jail for 5 years !
