Same story. 97000 fine or 5 years jail. Worst part i got the call first rrom a chinese guy. Then he redirected to someone. Then a new guy called from this number. When i googled it shows it's a etobicoke RCMP.. anyhow it's a scam.

Phoned me claiming they are the RCMP. Stating there was an issue with my income tax and gave me 2 choices either pay x amount of money or go to court and if I lose fees would be in the excess of 97,000 + liens on my home garnished wages etc..... Stated my phone was tapped. Also wanted me to make a decision on the spot and go to a bit machine to pay them (no debit, credit cards etc. just a bit machine). Informed me if I don't take care of this matter right away I will be arrested and go to jail for 5 years. I stated I will not make a decision as I have to speak to my accountant and lawyer and wanted to make sure that they in fact where sincere on being the CRA / RCMP. The gentleman got a little heated and stated you will see we are the RCMP when someone shows up at your door you will be arrested. I left to go to my accountant and he informed me it was a scam and if there was an issue with my taxes the government would send notification in the mail and if the RCMP / CRA wanted to get involved they would also do the same thing stating that I will be audited.
