Get this call about once a month for a yr now. Apparently there"s a criminal issue, which I need to see the magistrate. They claim to be CRA. I always call back unable to get through. Although they say call back. Today I actually got through, so I was really gonna pick them apart. Matthew answered and was concerned. "You rec"d a call from this number" yes.... He hung up. I called three times back and couldn"t get through. Def a call centre. I am confused w the angle here.

I got a call from this number. I get them every other day. I"m Canadian and sometimes its the IRA and sometimes its the CRA....its always a recording which I dont even listen to and never have called back in a year. I know my taxes are all paid and in good order.

CRA Scammers, I called back to the number as I missed the original call. They are smart enough to pick my name from my VM. So when I called he goes, is this Preet, there is a pending investigation on you for your 2014 taxes. I googled the number and found out this site, so I asked him, are you IRS or CRA :), let me record and report this number to RCMP, he was so quick to disconnect, and now, I am calling the number cant get through.. Scam but fun call :). Clearly from Pakistan.

Clearly a scam as the CRA does not operate this way. I answered from this number and a recorded message claiming to be from the CRA was played saying this was my second warning and I was due in magistrates court. I immediately called back and said, "I have been receiving spam calls from this number." The guy who answered had an Indian accent and I could hear other Indian accented people on other calls in the background. He said, "Is this Rachel?" I asked why they were calling and he said I owed backtaxes for 2015 but when I asked him to tell me what I was recorded as paying for that year, he hung up on me.

I"m particularly annoyed that not only did they get my phone number but they also have my name somehow. CASL clearly needs to go further and address telephone scammers like these jerks.

Get calls all the time from different numbers and they want me to call this number to avoid to go to prison. It is a clear scam but it is annoying, because they keep calling from different number, so they can"t be blocked.

This is one of the numbers associated to the CRA Scam that has been circulating throughout Canada, When you pick up, its an automated machine requesting our cooperation. Then when you call back the number is a man with a thick accent saying he is an Agent of Canada Revenue Agency looking to obtain payment for a balance owing....

I took the liberty to tell him that I will be reporting this number and his scam. Though, I believe these guys are using a a free Voip App that generates new numbers in order to send out calls with an automated recording.
