I received call and person (claiming he is from TD Meloch Monex) wanted to verify my name. He asked me about my upcoming renewal policy and wanted to confirm the ownership. I told him send me renewal if need changes I will let them know. I am not comfortable deal with some random caller asking me to verify home owners.

This is TD insurance, they need to confirm your postcode to ensure they are speaking to their insured. Most likely they wanted to tell you about a change in your policy or a claim result or that you are up for renewal.

i unfortunately picked up the phone. The guy on phone called my full name and said he"s with TD insurance. he asked me to confirm my post code and so he could tell me some important information. I felt unconfortable and told him to mail the IMPORTANT INFORMATION to me since they have my address... but he insisted to tell me the information after I told him my postcode...
