A message was left on my machine stating to call back to this number 226 780 4390. The message said if I did not call this number back, There would be a warrent out for my arrest.... It was a digital recording. So with any numbers I do not know, I looked it up online. And low and behold, all these people have had the same call...... On my phone, when I look at who has called, it jsut says 0. No name, nothing..... Scammers? It is election time, robo callers to be traced back to a certain party? Who knows. But I am sure, there are a few elderly people who are afraid after this call... Jerks. Yes maybe they should get another hobbie........ like walking in the middle of the highway

Actual an elderly person in Exeter fell for scam and purchased 3500$ in itunes cards and provided scammers with the pin numbers to all the cards. Only after this did family members get involved and reported scammers to police. It may not have been a call from this specific number, I believe call was a live call not an automated call. So to answer your question, yes this works and that why the scammers continue. Most people that fall victim are the elderly and get scared of the threat of being arrested.

226-780-4390 Claimed to be pending action and arrest if I don"t call back. I called back and asked name of person "Officer Jack Foster". I asked badge number "4126 J 67421" I asked address 875 Huron Rd Ottawa On. He asked my name. I stated that threatening voice message did not leave name of person that would be arrested and I asked for supervisor. He stated he doesn"t have to transfer me. I said if I am unhappy with agent I am speaking to at government office I may request to speak to supervisor and I am doing so. He said he"s not an agent - he"s an officer. I said I still want to speak to supervisor. He stated no supervisor is available. I said I would call back and hung up. People - Canadian Government would NEVER threaten in a voice mail. They would contact you via mail about any issues related to anything. Do Not Give these scammers your information and certainly do not send payment.

I got a call, I answered and there was no one on the line.

I called back the number and a men answeered, I toild him I had a call from this number few minutes agao, He asked me my name and postal code.
after 30 secs, I asked what is the name of his company, he answeered it is not a company but revenue canada, I told him I get many call from revenue Canada and the message said this is about a court case against me (when in fact there was not).
Soon after the men hanged off the phone

I checked and the phone is not in Ottawas or any where from Canada revenue.

A big scam. be warned.

I came home and seen an "Unknown Caller" from 226 780 4390 on my Call Window Display, and then listened to the Recorded Message said a call from 226 780 4390 and "if I do not call them back, at that Phone No., there will be a Warrant out for my Arrest" ? I called them back at 226 780 4390 and there was a recording saying "My Phone No has been Rejected" and a person did NOT answer at that phone number. (Can we catch these creepy people and somebody get them a hobby like flower arranging, or something)? I am looking for a job and do not want these kind of messages on my answering machine again?

Automated voice left message on my answering machine stating they were from Canada Revenue Agency. They claim there is a law suit pending in our name and to call back on the number left or an arrest warrant would be issued. When we called the number back a simple message of "call rejected" was pronounced and then disconnected the call

The reason you don’t see it as an an Ottawa number is because 226 is an Ontario mobile exchange, I’m on 226 myself. Anyway it amazes me these Indian a******s are still trying to run this scam. Has it ever worked? Are there any Canadians actually stupid enough to give a stranger money by PayPal believing it’s really the CRA? Even when they know they owe no back taxes? If so, I really do hate to say it but they get what they deserve.
